20 years in photography, 10 years in photo labwork, 8 years processing
Black and White film, and now 7 years in Digital Imaging, in Hollywood
and now here on my own 3 years, I know a few things about the art and
the craft of photography:
Just as good cameras dont make good pictures (good photographers do) ,
so good Digital Imaging equipment isnt all it takes to make exhibition-quality
images. It takes an operator with a dedication to a client's vision, and the ability to
consistently surpass their expectations. It also takes a better sense of contrast, color, and composition to deliver a beautiful image. But most importantly, it takes time and effort many labs won't give, to work closely enough with a client to take each image as far as it can go. I refuse to subject my clients' work to an overbooked production schedule, superficial attention, or an imperial attitude.
I am one person working one client and one job at a time, delivering (literally) the best work I know how each and every time. I work with good basic equipment and keep a low overhead to keep my pricing competitive:
Imacon 4x5 film scanner, and Epson 11x17 flatbed scanner
44" Epson 9800 printer using K3 archival pigmented inks onto a few hi-grade
archival watercolor papers, as well as a fine semi-gloss and a canvas.
That's it. No flash, no glitz, no bull.
